CEO and Founder
Currently, I am the founder of Lionheart Psychotherapy, a mental health practice that offers online therapy and hosts mental health events. An ideal client for Lionheart clinicians or myself can be coming from any life experience, as long as their needs and goals focus on self-understanding, self-compassion, and healing. Therapy can be challenging but it should also be a safe space to hold realizations, pain, growth, joy and release. An ideal client is willing to embrace this process.
I utilize a holistic, person-centered approach, and am drawn to engaging in exploration with my clients through narrative therapy. I believe that each client has their own unique experience and story to tell. I tend to use mindfulness techniques, meditation, writing and art interventions to empower my clients to continue on their path to a fulfilled life.
I truly look forward to meeting you! I am a therapist, but I am a human first that wants to use her life to help others live theirs in a happy and healthy manner. I hope to create change on the level where it counts, at the foundation, one on one with you.

Community Collaborator, LCSW
I am a therapy intern. I graduated from UAlbany with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in LGBTQ+ studies in the summer of 2023. I began as a student in the Master's in Mental Health Counseling Program at UAlbany during the summer of 2024 and am thriving. My current therapy style is heavily influenced by Gestalt and client-centered therapy theory. I always strive to make therapy a safe, affirming, and beneficial environment. I strongly believe in harm reduction and meeting clients where they're at in their personal journeys. My goal in providing therapy to others is to help them navigate through their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as boosting their self-confidence and accomplishing their personal goals they have for therapy. I have worked in the mental health field for 2 years and 6 months as a counselor in an apartment program and now as an assistant to the residential director at my agency where I assist in making sure all residential programs run smoothly. In my free time I am a musician, and I enjoy baking, cooking, being with my friends and family, doing crafts, and being in nature. I am looking forward to working with everyone and getting the opportunity to practice the skills I have been learning!
Mental Health Therapy Intern
Mental health has always fascinated me. My journey to becoming a therapist is anything but straightforward. I am a naturally curious person. Once I completed my masters I dove into research and gained experience with psychotherapy and psychiatry. I viscerally remember the first time I realized how powerful understanding the mind could be in helping people heal. It was like a spark went
off inside me—I wanted to dig deeper, to see how much more there was to learn, and how I could use that knowledge to make a difference.
Travel has been another huge part of my journey, both personally and professionally. Living in places like Singapore, Tokyo, and New York City expanded my world in ways I never expected. Each culture taught me something new about human resilience, family dynamics, and the universal need for connection. These experiences not only broadened my view of the world but also helped me develop a multicultural approach to therapy—one that honors each person’s
unique background and experience.
I co-authored research on diverse populations, ensuring that cultural competence would always be a cornerstone of my practice. Being part of professional organizations like the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA) keeps me connected to the latest in mental health care, and I’m always looking for new ways to provide the best, evidence-based therapy to my clients.
One of the most transformative parts of my career has been working with survivors of trauma.
Whether it’s domestic violence, human trafficking, or sexual assault, I’ve seen firsthand the strength and courage it takes to rebuild after such experiences. As the Manager of Residential Programs for a shelter in NYC, I had the privilege of leading teams dedicated to providing holistic, culturally sensitive support to survivors.

Ready to change your life? What's stopping you? I'm Alexis, here to help you identify your obstacles and remove them. With almost a decade of experience across all populations, I use Gestalt, family systems, CBT and psychosomatic interventions to support your growth and frustrate your defenses. My ideal client is YOU. You- shopping around for the right person to change your game, shift your consciousness, and level you up, I understand that therapy means we have a conversation and I don't tell you what to do. I also am here to reflect you, and that may mean illuminating your blind spots- I promise to do more than just agree with you.
I work from a family systems, relational and Gestalt informed modality, with elements of CBT/DBT. I was trained at Teacher's College, Columbia University, as well as 4 years of post-grad at the Gestalt Center in New York City. Dr. Robert Carter trained me in race relations, the creator of the term "microaggression." Essentially, I offer you a Real Life.
As a clinician, for better or worse, I am direct, authentic, imperfect, yet sincere- and I promote that in my clients- Truth, not codependency. I offer a free consultation, so you have absolutely nothing to lose. You're taking a noteworthy step by even just reading this listing, right? The hardest part is over; You are Ready, and let's celebrate that.
Supervisor, LMHC (NY), LPCC (CA)
I am currently an intern at Lionheart. I recently graduated from the University at Albany in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. During the summer of 2024, I began working on my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. My approach is based upon Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy, as I believe that therapy is a place for each client to tell their own, unfiltered story and learn who they are on a deeper level. My goal is not only to watch clients evolve and become empowered, but also to help them search deep inside themselves and uncover potential solutions to the life circumstances they face. I am eager to begin walking with you on your journey to a stronger you!
